MailSecur is formally Designated as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT) under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) SAFETY Act. This is the first desktop terahertz screening system to receive this designation.
What Is the SAFETY Act?
The Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (SAFETY Act) is a risk management program for the private sector in the event of an act of terrorism. Technologies meeting the SAFETY Act’s rigorous evaluation criteria receive formal designation from DHS as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT).
The Act provides powerful liability protections to:
- Companies that develop and sell QATT technologies
- Organizations that deploy and rely on those technologies
This means both RaySecur and MailSecur customers have an added layer of legal protection should a terrorist attack occur
Protection for Customers
If a terrorist event occurs involving an organization's mail:
Liability exposure for MailSecur customers is dramatically reduced
Defense protections extend to users, purchasing organizations, and resellers
Insurance carriers may offer reduced premiums due to lower risk
Organizations using non-certified technologies do not receive these protections
