Concealed White-powder and Fentanyl Exposures Result in Injuries
White-powder threats continued to shut down both government agencies and corporate organizations, with multiple employees receiving medical attention. Threat letters increased this month with multiple evacuations and federal responses. At corrections facilities, mail incidents continued to focus on the mail-based
smuggling of drugs
and contraband. As a result, accidental fentanyl exposure toward corrections officers caused a significant amount of hospital visits. The increase in drug or chemically-treated papers has become a problem for not just the State-level facilities but also jails and local holding facilities
