Increase in White-powder Threats
The month of July unveiled a significant number of mail-borne threats, both in the United States as well as abroad. Specifically, white powder events jumped this month, and the continued fallout from political decisions drove intense reactions. As a result, the mail was used to reach out and try to influence change in organizations and force opinions on others. This month also saw a significant shift in the targeting of specific individuals, which prompted a high-level of response from the authorities. Overall, the events displayed a higher level of aggression and were generally aimed at popular public figures.
